Well here's our story.........Looking oh-so-precious in their cute little light pink capri outfits, I decided that I would take the girls to the Mom's of Multiples children's Easter Social and egg hunt. It was in the back yard of a beautiful home. Lots of open space, twins of all ages everywhere picnicking with their mommy and daddy's. Beautiful day, perfect for this social. I stroll the girls over to a perfect picnic spot next to some friends and decided to let the girls out of the stroller. I then proceeded to spread the blanket down and turned around to find Kailyn about 20 yards away already in a huge mud hole. Another mom ran to her, pulled her out. The Capri's to her precious outfit were now a dark brown mud color and the white sandals that were on her feet for the very first time were now also dark brown. I didn't think to grab my camera before cleaning her up. As I am walking her back to our picnic area, I look up to see Kinley stomping in a water puddle, splashing mud everywhere.
Now, since we have only been there about 15 minutes, we need to visit the Easter bunny before things get any worse. Next, I sat them down on our blanket and started giving them food to just sit still. That didn't work, they thought it would be a better idea to mooch food from every ones' blankets. Then Kinley decided to steal a sippy cup from someone and took off running straight through a huge muddy garden trampling the poor mans crops. She turned around a giggled, of course everyone around laughed. Frustration is setting in about now for me and I'm wondering, why did I not ask Wayne to come since Landen's game was rescheduled at a later time?
I quickly grabbed Kailyn, strapped her in the stroller and another mom captured the garden run-away on the other side and escorted her back to the stroller as well. I was done with this event and packing up!!!! As I was leaving, it was time for the egg hunt for the 2 yr and under age group. Hummmm, do I dare let them loose again? I gave in and they loved gathering and eating the goodies in the eggs. I was exhausted!
Note to self, Daddy must attend if it requires them getting out of the stroller anywhere!
