10 Month 'lil explorers'

Time is just flying by! The girls are 10 months old already and quite the 'lil explorers'. They are very happy exploring in every room in the house. Sometimes they are together, like partners in crime, and sometimes they are going if opposite directions. The days of sitting and staying put are OVER!!!! The fences have gone up as well as the gates. Confinement is key when there's two roaming everywhere. And they have gotten FAST! If you turn your head for just a minute, they are gone and into something. There is also this urgent need to pull up on everything and everyone. We have had a few bumps and bruises already along the way, especially on the forehead, but they just keep going. Their personalities are really starting to shine and we are all having so much fun with them!

I thank God every day for blessing us with these precious lil angels.

Thanks for letting us share a little about ourselves at 10 months. Stay tuned for more updates soon:)

Fishing with all the kids!

Wayne took the boys fishing at a little neighborhood pond by our house. The girls just played on their blanket and watched. They didn't like the feel of the grass, so that kept them on the blanket. We all had a really good time. The boys caught quite a few little perch. All for fun:) Little Mr. Independent Landen had to take his own fish off the line.

Aunt Paula & Brittian's visit

This is our Aunt Paula, who calls us "Peanut Butter & Jelly". We had been fussing and she held us outside for awhile before our dinner and bath while Brittian played with Landen in the huge wagon. Thanks for spoiling us Aunt Paula!

Our ball pit!

At one of our playgroups with our "twin friends", we discovered that we could just buy some balls to put in our little blow-up pool that we never used this summer. Although it is a little small to hold all the balls as well as the girls, they love to get in and throw all the balls out. They have so much fun, as you can see on their faces. :)

Kailyn took off Crawling:)

Yeaaaaaaa Kailyn!! She joined her sister in the crawlers club. Aunt Christi was here to watch her first steps in crawling. We were so excited for her. She crawled right after those puffs and kept her eye on the prize the whole time. Watch the video below, so cute!

Landen's 1st Day of 1st Grade

Landen has been patiently waiting for school to start this year. We have heard GREAT things about his first grade teacher, Mrs. H. He really enjoyed meeting her at "meet the teacher". He was up and dressed and still had an hour and a half to wait. I sure hope this excitement continues:)
Well, he had a great day!

Daddy's Girls

The girls just light up when Daddy comes through the door. They love playing and climbing on him on the floor. I know he misses them during the day, but the welcome they give him makes it all ok when he gets home I guess. If you ever see him pulling his laptop, ask him to show you a picture or two or three. He has a lot on that computer.

Those toes..........too cute!

Our girls are 9 months old!

9 months old !.........wow what an incredible journey we have all had so far. They have really blossomed lately, so we have so much we want to share. Their personalities are in full bloom right now. It just amazes me everyday to watch them grow and see what all they have learned in only 9 short months. They are growing so fast and I feel very grateful to be able to stay home and nurture them on this journey. Every single day I think about what a fabulous life they are going to have, having each other: an identical twin, a sister, and very best friend.

Kinley (left), Kailyn (right)

Kinley is very expressive with laughter, playfullness, and excitement. She is extremely busy and inquisitive all the time. She is a very happy baby (except for cutting those top teeth and if you wake her up in the morning). The sight of her two brothers is what really gets her going in an instant. It is so precious! And the boys just eat it up.

Kailyn is my little love bug. She always gives you a mouth wide open smile that warms your heart. She is more laid back than her sister and easy-going. She's very happy and content. She'll lay her head on your shoulder and hug you for at least a minute. (Which is a really long time for a baby) And she loves to talk.

Both girls have mastered:

  • Rolling to get somewhere
  • Pulling hair
  • Clicking sound with their tongue
  • Saying "Hi"
  • Holding their own bottles
  • Drinking water out of a sippy cup
  • Giving kisses (open mouth with tongue sticking out, very wet)
  • Putting their own pacifier in
  • Pulling up on Momma & Daddy on floor

Kinley has also mastered:

  • Crawling
  • Welcoming three teeth: 2 at the bottom and 1 on the top
  • Waving "Hi"

Kailyn has also mastered:

  • Saying words, "Bubba", "Momma"
  • Blowing raspberries/spitting food back (thanks Daddy!)
  • Welcoming 4 teeth: 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom
9 Month Stats:
Kinley Renee: weight 20 lbs, length 27 3/8 inches
Kailyn Grace: weight 20.9 lbs, length 27 3/4 inches

And she's off........

Kinley is crawling everywhere. It has been a frustrating task to master, but she is feeling much more confident now. If she wants it, she will get to it. She has been taking two to three little crawl steps for about 5 days and now she is cruising. So the gates are up and the twin pen is officially the playroom now. Kailyn is not going to be far behind her! They will be 9 months tomorrow. I can't wait to go to our well-check visit Wednesday to get their updated stats.

Our Beautiful Children

We recently had a photo shoot with the kids and I want to share a few of the better shots. I am still trying to master timing with the girls and the heat. Maybe one day I'll get it right! I'm thinking maybe at 7:45 in the morning for our next shoot, instead of 100 degrees in the afternoon.

Wayne and I are a little partial, but we think these are the most beautiful kids in the world?
Hope you enjoy!

Best Friends for Life!

The boys absolutely adore their sisters as much as the girls adore their brothers.

Vacation to Galveston Island

This year we are staying close to home for our summer vacation. I really don't want to leave the girls for too long just yet and since I'm not working anymore, we are on a budget! So we dropped off the girls at Gran and Grandpa's for a couple days and we took the two boys to Galveston. On our way, we took the scenic route through Crystal Beach area. Wayne and I grew up going there every summer and we haven't been there since Ike hit. We were curious to see the damage as well as the improvements. We were amazed to say the least! The clean-up crews must have been working overtime and the number of cabins they have already built in one year was astounding. This trip was also the first time Landen has ever rode the ferry.

We had so much fun! We also met our friends fron Austin there, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Amy, Clayton and Camryn. All 4 of the kids played so well together, and little miss Camryn hung right in there with the boys. Here are a few pics from our fun trip!
Looks like Landen really enjoyed his snowcone!
